The ancient buildings of Logis de Beaulieu are located on the northern slope of a small valley. They are the centre of the private estate Domaine de Beaulieu with its small woods, fields, meadows, three lakes and the old cottage of Saint Germain (see Gite Saint Germain), located 450 metres from the manor house...

The tennis court and the large swimming pool (8 x 14 metres) are used by the guests and the owner family only.

The 17th and 18th century buildings were modified for the last time in the period between 1805 and 1825, by a tax official of Napoleon.

The numbered parts 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the buildings are privately used by the owner family. In 1986 some annexed buildings and old stables(5 and 9) were transformed into guest appartments (gites), “Beaulieu 1” (5) with its own courtyard (6) and  terrace (7), and “Beaulieu 2” with a terrace and access through the main courtyard (10).

A large swimming pool was constructed in 2005, with a beautiful view on the valleys and hills surrounding Beaulieu. The private road (12) leads past the tennis court (150 metres away) and the gite Saint Germain (450 metres away), to the two big lakes (600 metres). Please have a look in our Gallery to get an impression.

Most of the floors in the gites have been kept in a style typical for the region – with red clay tiles. The spaciousness of the gites can be seen on the floor plans.

The ceilings with their ancient oak beams, as well as the typical open stone fireplaces, give the apartments their rustic charentais character.
